In 2019 the founders of Fiit, the number one rated fitness app, commissioned us to design their HQ in Here East, an innovation and technology campus situated in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Hackney, East London.
Fiit was founded in 2017 by three friends with a vision to make the world’s best fitness classes accessible to everyone. The company has developed a subscription-based workout app that brings the boutique studio experience to wherever you choose to work out. Users can connect their phone to their smart TV to see their work out on their home screen.
In a space originally designed as part of the former Press and Broadcast Centres of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games we have created a canal side workplace that uniquely encapsulates the Fiit brand identity and company ethos.
We invited the Fiit founders and various members of the wider team to collaborative workshops so that they could participate into the design process. The gathered insights become key ingredients in our design concept which included an open plan workspace, personalised in the companies’ brand colours, along with a meeting area, kitchen, and breakout areas with a variety of plants and greenery to create a connection to nature.
At the centre of the plan a convivial, multifunctional area was designed to invite social interaction and to host events. The workplace also boasts integrated workout zones and a mirrored gym space, with staff lockers, so that team members can train in between their meetings.
The space also features a fully featured and sound proofed onsite TV studio and recording space so that new content for the workout app can be produced by the trainers and edited onsite in an adjacent control room.
